My local
This is my local spot where I go to recharge. Out into nature to recharge all that the ‘big’ city living has drained from me.
Where do you go to recharge? Could you see yourself here going here to recharge?
I am not sure what it is about this place, but it just works for me. This creek very much reminds me of where I grew up and all the fun times I had at ‘Fig Tree’, Ross and Locke, or Pete’s bridge. Not that you would swim at some of these places any more due to the likelihood of crocs.
This local creek is known by many. There however is always a spot you can find to have by yourself. Except of cause if it is a public holiday in summer.
Most people that rock hop up the creek get to the main attraction, the big waterfall, and stop. As with everything in life though, if you just go that little bit further, scramble up that rock face or find that alternative path hidden to the side, there are even more things to explore and see.
On this trip I found some side creeks flowing with water that I had not seen before. Initially I went past as I had a spot in mind that I wanted to visit. It was not long though until I was drawn back to the side creek.
This is what I love about this creek. There is always something new to explore.
It was getting late now, the sun had not set but it was now not shining into the valley I was in making it dark. I was also getting tired, not as young and fit as I once was. One last photo. I set the tripod and camera up carelessly beside a waterfall, hit the two second timer to take the picture, and silently and gracefully the camera starts to topple over.
Even though I might not be as fit as I once was, my reflexes are still there. I managed to catch the camera before it went for a swim. Luckily, it did this pirouette manoeuvre which gave me more time.
Where is this spot you might ask? This is not a secret spot by any means, most of you will know this spot but I have decided to leave the name out. There is enough graffiti up there already.
If you are really keen to know where it is, send me a message and I will let you know where it is.
